In May 2012 I watched a life changing documentary called The Genius Of Photography. After viewing all 6 episodes over the course of a few days I was so inspired that I eagerly rushed out to buy myself a camera and start snapping! I purchased a Fujifilm S4000 bridge camera, meaning it lies somewhere between a point and shoot and a DSLR. It came with loads of features to manually adjust things like aperture, shutter speed, ISO and so on, plus it has a 30X Optical Zoom. I brought my camera everywhere I went in the early months after buying it, I shot many hundreds of photos of anything and everything.
In 2013 I plan to start travelling around Europe and playing music, starting in the South of France. I can’t wait to see what photo opportunities await me! And you can be sure I’ll keep you all up to date via my blog
So here are my 12 favorite photos from 2012, plus a few honorable mentions at the bottom. The pictures are ranked very loosely, I like them all about the same to be honest. Please enjoy the pics, let me know what you think, and if you like them which one’s you like best:

I don’t post many photos on this blog as it’s more about my writing and healing, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to show some more of my pics to those who are interested

Fantastic photos!
Thank you
Rohan.
Wow, those are great! I particularly like the pigeons over Portobello – you captured the movement of flight beautifully.
Thank you lynn
Yeah I’m happy with that one too, that was a pretty random shot, sometimes it’s pot luck haha!
Rohan.
Absolutely. But it does take a trained eye and skill to find those random moments
Yeah I guess you’re right, you certainly do have to have your eye out in order to capture those moments
Rohan.
All beautiful but torn between a lady and a pigeon and a girl in her bike. Wonderful.
Thank you
Yeah the girl on the bike I think is still my most re-blogged photo on Tumblr, people really seem to like it! And the pigeon one is crazy. I was just shooting the girl and when I looked at the picture later I noticed pigeon in the shot haha!
Rohan.
Simply beautiful, Rohan! It’s fantastic to see the world through your perceptive eyes!
Aww, thanks
Photography is loads of fun, and something I’m really looking forward to doing more of next year, gosh how I can’t wait to shoot in the South of France!
Rohan.
very nice photography
i particularly like girl on a bike
Thank you! Yeah, that’s a really popular one
All the best!
Rohan.
I like them all! You’ve got quite a gift. Especially love the humorous irony of the RELAX photo. Very nice. I don’t see why you couldn’t use some of your photos to illustrate your blog!
Thank you Jennifer
Guess what, I took your advice and used a few of my pics in my latest post on affirmations
Rohan.
I love the the photo of your dad. I obviously don’t know him, but I feel like you captured his authenticity in the photo. Close 2nd is the girl on the bike; I like the background with the low clouds and the “vanishing point”.
Thank you
Yeah I like that pic of him too! If there’s one thing Dublin does well it’s the low clouds, annoying for most people but very nice for photography hehe
Rohan.
Great shots! Since I love all things nature, I especially like the rose and the green leaf with water drops.

Thank you
Yes, shooting nature is a real pleasure whether it’s animals or vegetation, it’s really meditative!

Excellent!
Thank you Lyann

Awesome pics! I’ve recently gotten quite into photography and am thinking about investing in a proper camera instead of using my, erm, iphone lol. Look forward to seeing many more
Wow, firstly that is really inspiring that you went out and did that! Secondly, I have so many favourites. I like the two friends hugging, the pigeons, your dad (he looks like Ed Harris, the actor!), your friend Andrea’s portrait, crossing the bridge, the green leaf, two ducks flying, the rose, and the three men at the cafe. Those are all my faves! Great job
Thanks for the really lovely comment
Haha, yeah I tell my dad he looks like Ed Harris too! I’m glad you liked so many of them
Rohan.
Haha! Ed Harris is a handsome man
My pleasure!
